A Day of Halloween crafts

We have been having some unusual weather this weekend, it shot up to 102 degrees today! Just when I was starting to get used to the fall weather of 75 degrees it gets HOT again. Since it was so hot and we wanted to stay inside in the air conditioning, I decided to pull out some Halloween crafts for Tatum and I to work on. First we decorated pumpkins of our family. Tatum had picked out 3 different sized small pumpkins from the store. I cut up some different colored pipe cleaners that we used as hair and cut up some black and red construction paper for the eyes, noses and mouths. I poked holes in the tops of the pumpkins so that she could put the pipe cleaners in and I had her show me where to put the glue for the eyes, noses and mouths so that she could place them on. She was so excited making the pumpkins. She even told us which ones were Tatum, mommy and daddy. I placed the pumpkins on a plate and used them as our dining table centerpiece. She loves to sit at the table and look at them and she is so proud of herself for the job she did. This is Pumpkin Tatum
This is our pumpkin family
The second craft that we did was with some foam pumpkins that I picked up from Michaels. It's a cute little kit that comes with already cut foam pumpkins, adhesive stems, eyes, noses and mouths and glitter paint. I put the paint out with a small paint brush and I had Tatum pick out which eyes, noses and mouths she wanted to use. She just loves paint, so this was the perfect project for her. All of the pumpkins came out with funny faces and were very cute.
The third and final project we did today was bake some orange pumpkin shaped sugar cookies. Tatum placed all the cookies on the cookie sheet and then used some food coloring paint to color them. When they were all finished baking she examined them and ate a few. She wanted to eat them all.
